This material that is contained on this CD consists of edited camera sync reel to reel tapes that were used during the filming of the "Elvis On Tour" documentary in the spring of 1972. These were recorded by the documentary's soundman using boom mics in conjunction with the filming of Elvis and his band at RCA's Studio A and C in Hollywood, California and an unknown location during his April tour. This show was famous for Elvis completely losing it and issuing a long tirade defending himself against the rumors that he did drugs. Elvis: "From three different sources I heard that I was strung out on heroin... I've never been strung out in my life. If I find or hear the individual that has said that about me I'm gonna BREAK your GODDAMNED neck, you SON OF A BITCH! These reports are dangerous and are damaging to my little daughter, to Priscilla, to my father, my doctor, my friends, everyone on stage and to you...." Then he pointed at his invisible accuser, "I will pull your GODDAMNED tongue from the ROOTS". Another interesting part of the show i when he introduces Priscilla who is sitting next to his girlfriend and then discusses his divorce on stage and then goes into SOLFTLY! Very strange. This is an historic performance. The recording quality of Desert Storm is first class (probably a soundboard) and the sleeve boasts it was taken from the "master tapes". The tracks from the October 6th, 1974 evening show in Dayton, OH are a "bonus" and are taken from a significantly better sounding source compared to the previous release of this material 5 years ago. This release contains a 12 page full color booklet with informative liner notes and many rare photos taken during July, August and September 1976 tours as well as some previously unpublished Dayton Oct.6, 1974 shots." Amongst the CD highlights are fine renditions of "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)", "Love Letters", "Hurt" (with a powerful reprise ending), a very funny "Happy Birthday" sung to Jackie Kahane's daughter, a dynamite "Mystery Train / Tiger Man", an unusual "Blue Christmas" that's coupled with an instrumental version of "Jingle Bells" (!), a truly stunning version of "How Great Thou Art", a pounding version of "Big Boss Man" and a rare 1978 interview with Jackie Kahane.
