This was a Japanese only compilation 78. The cover was a plain generic sleeve with black and white pictures of some of the RCA artists on one side (it's interesting that there's no Elvis pic!) and photos of various RCA record players and radios on the flip. Because the scanner wasn't large enough to show the complete cover we had to crop both sides. As to the condition of the paper cover it would have to be graded VG+ or better. No seams splits, tape or writing.

After 32 years of collecting Elvis records worldiwde I had no idea that there were Mexican 78's made until maybe three years ago. These are even rarer than Japanese 78's. This particular one was the SECOND 78 issued in Mexico and also has a different song coupling than any other country.

In the early 1960's, RCA in the U.S. were experimenting with different ways to release their singles. They tried 33 1/3 RPM issues and also these very rare 45 RPM LIVING STEREO ones. There was the special picture cover that each came in a very rare generic "RCA VICTOR LIVING STEREO" sleeve. Good luck ever finding one of these! It may be harder to find than the records!!

In the early 1960's, RCA tried to market some of their artits on a new 33 1/s RPM vinyl format. There were only 5 Elvis singles that were issued and this is the very first. Please note that we have TWO different variations of the label and these are both pictured when clicking on the photo to the left. The price above is for the cover and just ONE of the records so you can choose which one you'd want. Both records are MINT _ and you can see that the cover is basically MINT - with light circle wear. If you'd want to buy just one of the records please e mail us for a price.

Technically, this was the very first Elvis Presley picture cover!! When RCA bought El's contract from SUN they immediately reissued the five SUN singles and then he had his first hit with Heartbreak Hotel. It is actually not known what single came inside this cover but my guess would be that it was a promo sleeve sent out with Heartbreak inside. This was of course sent out to promote this to dj's and the music industry. This cartoon type picture cover supposedly depicted Elvis' rise to fame. At any rate this is super, super rare and in BEAUTIFUL CONDITION and you'll never find another this good.

| COMMENTS |
If anyone reading this has this record I will be shocked, amazed, and stunned. Thanks to the great Denny Mitchell I have a copy. Ok, what is this MONSTER?? It is a U.S. BMG two sided gray label (NOTE that the scan does NOT represent the exact color of the label as in reality it is gray) 45 RPM that was issued in 2003 by BMG SPECIAL PRODUCTS. The other side contains the exact same label, song, etc as on the flip. It was made as a promotional tool for the ELVIS PRESLEY ILLUMINATED CD / RECORD PLAYER RADIO (which came out a few years ago and is now DELETED!) and was released during the ELVIS ON SUN campaign.
(NOTE: The actual display that was in stores is around 18" x 18". Please click on the bottom left photo for a larger version).
NO ONE (I repeat.....NO ONE!) EVEN KNOWS ABOUT THIS! This copy is TOTALLY 100% MINT! It comes in a plain white sleeve. You can't consider yourself a big Elvis vinyl collector if you don't have this baby!! You'd better get it now before it doubles or triples in price!
Please click on the label for a larger version. Also, please click on the photo (bottom left) to see a larger version of this great display. |

In October, 1982 RCA tried to capitalize on the latest craze in the music industry (actually they were really a few years too late!) by re-recording some of Elvis' hits and issuing them in a "medley" form. This single reached only # 71 on the Pop charts in the U.S. and was very hard-to-find in stores.

This was a special 45 RPM singles released in October, 1984 on BLUE VINYL and on the "ELVIS: 50TH ANNIVERSARY" label. When this single came out, RCA made a mistake on the label and BLUE SUEDE SHOES was credited as STEREO and PROMISED LAND as MONO. This was discovered and soon replaced with the correct wording. This mistake version is the RARER of the two! We have a LIMITED number of these in stock!

This comes in the original RCA Victor Egyptian sleeve. ALso please note that the label is NOT black as the photos indicate. It is actually a dark blue. For unknown reasons the scane just couldn't pick up the correct color.

First, this is NOT a record but we thought it best to put it in this section so collectors don't miss it! This 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" incredibly rare Italian softcover book was issued around the time that BLUE HAWAII was released. It has 68 pages of black and white photos from the 50's - early 60's. But the most interesting thing about it is that it appears to be GENUINELY signed by Elvis. We contacted our friend of thirty plus years (LIVIO MONARI) in Italy and Livio has confirmed that this book originally came out WITHOUT any signature and he too thinks it is probably REAL. We are accepting bids for this item at this time.
Please click on the top photo for a larger version of the front cover and on the bottom one for a larger shot of the autograph.
