This 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" incredibly rare Italian softcover book was issued around the time that BLUE HAWAII was released. It has 68 pages of black and white photos from the 50's - early 60's. But the most interesting thing about it is that it appears to be GENUINELY signed by Elvis. We contacted our friend of thirty plus years (LIVIO MONARI) in Italy and Livio has confirmed that this book originally came out WITHOUT any signature and he too thinks it is probably REAL. It deals exclusively with the concerts from '69 on and does what other similar books just tried to do! There is no comparison with this and another recent "supposedly complete" book! Not only does Stein reproduce reviews of all or most of the shows from various press accounts but he lists each concert, the jumpsuit Elvis wore, the attendance at each show, a detailed list of musicians and backing singers PLUS not only a list of the "normal" songs that Elvis performed during each tour but also a list of unusual ones he sang including songs that he might have only sung one line of!!! I can't begin to tell you what an invaluable book this is if you're into this period. And, if you're into pictures, there are over 200 mostly FULL COLOR photos showing the various jumpsuits he wore! If you want to see what RCA did with ELvis picture covers from all over the world and see some very unusual designs, this is the book to have. It is now out-of-print but I still have a few left. TITLE FOR CD FANS ONLY AUTHOR DALE HAMPTON PUBLISHER WORLDWIDE ELVIS COUNTRY UNITED STATES PAGES 620 (LARGE SIZE SOFTBOUND) PRICE $24.95 COMMENTS This is a mammoth 620 page U.S. BMG price guide book by noted Elvis author and expert Dale Hampton. Years ago, Dale introduced a 200 page U.S. Elvis price guide to the world with values of every U.S. CD that had come out at that time. This version (three times the size of the initial one) not only contains a listing (with pictures) of EVERY KNOWN U.S. Elvis, various artists and Elvis, radio show CD's but also includes a 120 page monstrous cross reference section that is worth the price alone!!
